Corporate Profile: Green Plains Renewable Energy, Inc.
Green Plains Renewable Energy,
Inc., (Nasdaq : GPRE) an Iowa Corporation, was organized to construct and operate fuel grade ethanol plants.
The Company's first Plant will be located near the town of Shenandoah, Iowa. Fagen, Inc., of Granite Falls, Minnesota is the Company’s design-builder for that plant.
ICM, Inc. will provide all process design and engineering services for the construction of the Plant. ICM is based in Colwich, Kansas, and has more than 20 years of experience in ethanol plant design, engineering, and operation. Over 40 percent of the ethanol plants currently under construction were designed by ICM.
The Company’s second plant is being built in Superior, Iowa. The Company has
purchased land in Superior and received an air permit from the Iowa DNR for the
Superior site. The Company announced on July 31, 2006 that it raised $47 million
in net equity to build the plant near Superior. The company anticipates that it
will close on the needed debt funding for the Superior project in the near
future. Construction on the Superior plant commenced in August with the
permission of the Company’s proposed lender. The Company also intends to build
other plants at other sites in Iowa or in surrounding states.
GPRE's name-plate, 50-million gallon per year, dry-grind ethanol facilities will incorporate the latest process control systems and biotechnology to maximize production yields and quality. Reduced plant emissions will make these state-of-the-art facilities some of the most efficient and environmentally friendly in the industry.
